  • Proposal Submission Form

  • Rockford University encourages the efforts of faculty members and departments to secure funding for research and special projects that enhance teaching, learning, and campus initiatives through grants and contracts. Accordingly, the University has the responsibility of monitoring the grant process to ensure that no proposal is submitted that would impose budgetary or academic obligations on the University that it is not completely prepared to fulfill, or that the University determines to be inconsistent with its mission.

The Office for Advancement and Alumni serves as the University’s central registration office for all grant applications and awards, including collaborative and subcontract grant awards. Advancement maintains University records on grant submissions, awards, renewals, and reports. Advancement should be notified of the intent to apply for a grant as early as possible. The grant applicant must complete RU's Proposal Submission Form before starting any work on the proposal, which will assist in keeping track of any grants submitted through RU and allow for executive approval.

Therefore, please use this Proposal Submission Form as the first, initial step when pursuing grant funding for any project associated with Rockford University.

Once Advancement receives the completed version of this submission form for the grant in question, it can be formally sent in for review and approval by the grant applicant's department V.P. or the Provost, the Chief Financial Officer, and the President. Then, once the standard of approval is met, the grant applicant can begin the official writing process for the application. Advancement will be available to assist the grant applicant in preparing the proposal, including arranging for the necessary signatures. Before final submission, the final draft of the proposal must be approved by the President, within at least one (1) week before the submission deadline for the grant.
